Sobon Estate

Originally the historic, D'Agostini Winery, Sobon Estate was purchased in 1989 by Leon and Shirley Sobon /Shenandoah Vineyards winery . The site was chosen not only for its historical winery, being the oldest still operating in the state, but also for its established vineyards and potential vineyard land. The original old vine Zinfandel was retained, and the other vineyards replanted with the best varieties and clones to keep true to the Sobon's goal of making thr best wines from their own grapes. This winery has been designated as California State Historic Landmark #762, founded in 1856.
