Emeritus Vineyards Don's Block 2018

Named in honor of our founding winemaker, Don Blackburn, the block is the coldest area of the Hallberg Ranch. It is gently sloping, south-facing and planted to Clone 115. Marked by deep Goldridge soil, this block creates the type of Pinot Noir that Don envisioned for Emeritus—a wine with nuance and grace that is both delicate and incredibly flavorful. It is our most classically styled Pinot Noir, but it builds in intensity with each sip. At the heart of this wine is a textural quality, with acid and super-polished tannins melding on the palate to create a bright, soulful drinking experience.
